 Tour itinerary:

Day 1: Edinburgh

  • Arrival in Edinburgh, incl. airport transfer
  • Dinner, incl. Scottish piper and dancer

 Day 2: Edinburgh

  • Edinburgh City tour
  • Possibility to go on a boat trip to/ around the infamous Bass Rock with numerous different seabirds, such as gannets and puffins.

Day 3: Fife & Perthshire

  • Coastal towns along the Firth of Forth in Fife
  • St Andrews: Golf course, Castle, Cathedral, historic town, beach
  • Dundee with the RRS Discovery Ship
  • Scone Palace – Historic location of coronation of Scottish kings
  • Nature Reserves with Ospreys

Day 4: Royal Deeside & Aberdeenshire

  • East Cairngorms National Park with it dramatic landscape
  • Balmoral Castle – the Queen’s summer residence
  • Crathie Kirk – Royal Church
  • St Machar’s Cathedral – Oldest & tallest granite cathedral in the world
  • Aberdeen – the silver city
  • Dunnottar Castle

Day 5: Highlands

  • Walk around beautiful town of Pitlochry
  • Cairngorms National Park with Sheep dog demonstration
  • Clava Cairns – standing stones
  • Culloden – important historic battlefield of the last Jacobite rising on April 16 1746
  • Inverness, the capital of the Highlands
  • Loch Ness with Urquhart castle
  • West Highlands

Day 6: Isle of Skye

  • Eilean Donan Castle – infamous castle of the film ‘Highlander’
  • Skye Bridge
  • Cuillin Mountains
  • Portree – the colourful little harbour
  • Trotternish with the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and Quiraing
  • Ferry ride to Mallaig
  • Glenfinnan – the ‘Harry Potter Viaduct’
  • Fort William

Whale Watching boat tour possible instead of Island discovery tour.

Day 7: West Highlands – Glasgow

  • Whisky Distillery ‘Ben Nevis’
  • Glencoe – the history glen where the ‘Glencoe massacre’ took place
  • Walk on the West Highlands Way
  • Inverary Castle
  • Loch Lomond & The Trossoach National Park
  • Glasgow City Tour


Day 8: Glasgow

Departure from Glasgow/ Edinburgh.
