Your itinerary proposal

Day 1: Arrival in Edinburgh

Arrival in Edinburgh and transfer to the hotel of your chosen category. Use the remaining time for a city tour or a walk towards Calton Hill. In the evening round off the day with a "historical ghost tour", a visit to the jazz club or a Scottish evening. Accommodation in the booked category. Overnight in Edinburgh.

Day 2: Edinburgh - Crianlarich

In the morning you could plan a sightseeing tour (museums, castle, ...) or you take a hike on Edinburgh's extinct volcano "Arthur's Seat". If you feel like it, you can also hop on the train first thing in the morning and travel directly to Crianlarich. Here you are in the historic and scenic "Cinema Scotland" (Highlander, Rob Roy, Braveheart) of the Western Highlands. Nature lovers will find ideal conditions for hiking, canoeing or fishing. Accommodation in the booked category. Overnight in Crianlarich/Tyndrum.

Day 3: Fort William

One of the most beautiful railway journeys in the world. The West Highland Railway Line is the "Road to the Isles" across the wild and romantic Rannoch Moor to the Atlantic coast at Mallaig. Use the time for an idyllic walk before departure or in Mallaig. Visit the town of Fort William or stop at the famous historic Glenfinnan Monument. Accommodation in the booked category. Overnight in Mallaig/Fort William.

Day 4: Loch Ness - Inverness - Pitlochry

Train journey via Fort William and continue by coach along the Great Glen and Loch Ness to Inverness. You can explore the idyllic 'main town' comfortably on a walking tour. Then continue by train to Pitlochry in the heart of the Central Highlands. Enjoy the lovely mountain, waterfall and loch scenery. Take an exhilarating walk up Ben Vrackie Mountain, or to the picturesque River Tummel with the Pass of Killiecrankie and views from Queens View. Visit the imposing ducal seat of Blair Castle with its parks and the famous Salmon Ladder. An insider tip is to visit Scotland's smallest whisky distillery. Accommodation in the booked category. Overnight in Pitlochry.

Day 5: Departure from Edinburgh

Return to Edinburgh by train. Airport transfer and flight home or connecting programme.
