Day 1: Arrival in Edinburgh

Personal welcome at Edinburgh Airport and airport transfer. In the evening, get to know the group. Dinner with a surprise! Two nights in Edinburgh.

Day 2: The Outlander-Edinburgh

We start the day at Edinburgh’s Holyrood Palace, where we follow the Royal Mile to discover Jamie’s Print Shop, the scene of Jamaica Ball and the ‘World’s End Pub’ among other well-known locations from the series. Your guide won’t forget the other important sights of the Scottish capital. Visit to Edinburgh castle or free time. We move on to one of the most romantic settings of the series. The Watermill. We all remember the scenes filmed here. The excitement continues with a visit to Adsmuir Prison, where Jamie was held after the defeat at Culloden. Dinner as a group.

Day 3: The Outlander-Castles

We leave early for Culross, filming location for multiple scenes from the series. The herb garden where Claire and Geillis met and Geillis’ herb shop, a Jacobite meeting place, in which Laoghaire and Bree’s 4th season argument was filmed. Next is the Cranesmuir Market and the Black Kirk, followed by Aberdour Castle, the oldest in the country. It served as Abbey of St Anne de Beaupre in Outlander, where Jamie recovers from the beating by Black Jack Randall. Our route takes us to Falkland, the stand-in for Inverness in seasons 1 and 4. There we have the option to visit Falkland Palace. We end the day in the port of  “Le Havre” , where Jamie and Claire arrived in France. Dinner and overnight in Perth/Kinross.

Day 4: From Cranesmuir to Le Havre

Starting the day at Lallybroch, Jamie’s beloved estate, we will explore the area where numerous scenes from series 3 were filmed. Hopetoun House is next up. This was not just the residence of the Duke of Sandringham but also the scene for Ellesmere, Helwater and even parts of Paris. Heading on we visit the Outlander Fort William, which you will hopefully enjoy despite the events of the storyline.  Remember when Murtagh beheaded Sandringham? We get to visit the kitchen where that happened. Last up is Castle Leoch with a little surprise. Dinner and overnight in Perth/Kinross.

Day 5: Into the Highlands

Tibbermore Church is our first stop of the day to check out the location where Claire and Geillis’ trial for witchcraft was shot.  Further along is the Tullibardine Chapel where Jamie and Claire hid on the way to Inverness. A walk through the gardens of ‘Versaille’ follows before lunch in scenic Pitlochry. In the surrounding forest lies the camp of the Mohawks from season 4. Travelling further we finally arrive in the real Highlands which can feel like the trip to the 18th century, especially with a visit to the Highland Folk Museum. The fifth episode (season 1) was filmed here. Group dinner and overnight in Highlands National Park.

Day 6: Inverness and Culloden

The Highlands are of course famous for their whisky and a visit to a distillery is a must. The historic Dallas Dhu Distillery is a great place to learn the production process of this quintessential Scottish tipple. In time for lunch we head into Inverness, the off-screen version of course, and the capital of the Highlands. You have time for shopping or a stroll along the River Ness. In the afternoon it is time for a visit to Culloden to see the battlefield and museum of the Jacobite uprising, before returning to our hotel for dinner.

Day 7: Glenfinnan - Glencoe - Glasgow

The spectacular West Highlands are the focus of today. Starting in Glenfinnan where Bonnie Prince Charlie started the second Jacobite revolt in August 1745. We continue on to Glencoe, where the Outlander Title opening scenes were filmed. Heading south to Glasgow we visit the Glasgow Cathedral a stand in for the Hospital in France. Farewell evening event with special guests!

Day 8: Departure

Group transfer to Edinburgh Airport. Flights should not be booked before 11:30 am.
